Playspace at the California Academy of Sciences

OPPORTUNITY
The California Academy of Sciences created a playspace to encourage nature exploration and outdoor play. SOLUTION I illustrated a diversity of organisms found in the Bay Area in a modern retake of a woodcut style for use on signage and informational panels. I also illustrated a suite of nature-themed textural patterns. The wordmark was designed by Sterling Larrimore, who also applied my illustrations to signs and decals. I designed the ‘Tis the Season for Science window signage. |

To promote a holiday event in the playspace, I illustrated a snowy scene and dressed up the squirrel and hummingbird accordingly.
