OPPORTUNITY
Millions of preschoolers have speech sound disorders and neurodiverse conditions that make traditionally designed picture books confusing and stressful to experience. Yet, there are no storybooks designed to help them discover the joy of reading. Stephanie Riggs, who previously contracted me to design The End of Storytelling, wants to change this. She invited me to help design, illustrate, and pitch a picture book series that will help make reading more accessible to all. The content was reviewed by a pediatric speech pathologist. SOLUTION With my expertise in accessible design, I illustrated Stephanie’s story and designed a proposal describing our content/design rationale, as well as our series plan. As we are currently pitching to publishers and agents, I cannot post samples publicly. But please feel free to ask me about the project! |
