I designed and produced this video to help prospective students decide if The Marketing Seminar is right for them.
Tutorials Adobe Create
In these "before and after" graphic design tutorials, I show how to use layout, typography, and Adobe Creative Cloud products to craft stronger visual experiences. I produce and record the tutorials.
Templates Adobe Spark Post
For the launch of Adobe Post's grid-based design feature, I produced a collection of 20+ social graphics to serve as sample templates. The challenge (and fun) was to create pieces that could be easily remixed to support other types of brands and content, all with the app's moderately constrained typographic options and graphics tools.
I designed original mockups for all aspects of the user interface, from the instructions to a loading animation and final destination recommendations. This project is a venture associated with Harvard Innovation Labs, and I collaborated closely with the project leader to discuss product function, features, and marketing strategy.
Booklet The Nature Conservancy
This booklet showcases the perspectives of eleven global and regional leaders at The Nature Conservancy. This work was featured online as a downloadable PDF, so I designed it without bleed for desktop printers.
Advertisement (course example) LinkedIn Learning/Lynda.com The instructor needed an example of contrast for use in his graphic design course. Paying attention to contrasts in scale, movement, and brightness, I designed this ad, wrote the copy, and created a logo.
To illustrate the instructor's lesson on the importance of concise copy, having a focal point, and balanced white space, I created a series of one advertisement with varying lengths of text. This is the ad at the final step, with the most concise copy. I designed the logo in Illustrator, retouched the photos in Photoshop, and assembled the layout in InDesign.
For part of a course introduction to layout, I designed a variety of objects to show that layout doesn't happen only on a page, and that text and graphics interact with their physical context.
This cover was featured in a page layout course as an example of the value of having a focal point. It was compared to another example that I created, which presented the same text but with a much busier layout.
Classic literature Self-initiated book cover design
Each illustration aims to distill the story to its essence, and evoke the mood and timelessness of these stories.
Event posters Self-initiated
Informational sheet Self-initiated
Useful as a poster, a flyer, or a magazine feature, this guide to vitamins takes a complex subject and neatly presents it in an inviting way. I wrote the copy, pulling the facts from a variety of sources.
Magazine story Self-initiated
An experimental layout creates an energetic vibe for a feature story on a hip, fictional restaurant. I wrote the copy.
Magazine spread Self-initiated
Targeted at an audience interested in exploring in the great outdoors, this layout combines shapes with photos for an eclectic, adventuresome look. I wrote the copy based on my own experiences camping in four of the North American deserts.
Print advertisement The Nature Conservancy
Given total creative freedom to design an ad for a journal targeted at environmental news reporters, I decided to make a visual pun out of "pool of knowledge", an iPad (playing on lily pad), and an animal that lives on both land and in water. I composited seven images in Photoshop to create this ad, and wrote the copy.
Infographic LifeDojo Corporate Wellness After organizing raw data and helping conduct statistical analysis, I looked for ways to link the data into a story. I designed a infographic with slices that could be presented alone in other contexts.
